New Jenkin Span Tables are now available

Jenkin Tru-Pine Span Tables have been updated to include the changes in timber standard AS1729.1-2010 and loading standard AS1170.0-2002, incorporating number 1,2 & 4 and AS1170.1-2002, incorporating amendments 1&2.

Changes to the Australian timber and loading standard that have has an effect on the span are as follows:

  • AS1170 has been amended so that the live load on domestic roofs is limited to 0.25kPa. Allowing an increase in the spans that can be achieved by certain members.
  • AS1729.1-2010 uses higher strength reduction factors than the previous code – allowing larger spans to be achieved. Load duration and characteristic material properties have also changed.
